Motorhome taxation is changing – Why is fixed installation no longer worthwhile?

Motorhome travel is synonymous with freedom, but the discussion around it often revolves around costs and regulations. Many have considered converting a van into a motorhome in the hope of a small tax break. However, this old truth is now crumbling.

The planned car tax reform is changing the playing field significantly, and the taxation of motorhomes is likely to increase significantly. This raises an important question: is there any point in bolt-on, fixed furniture solutions and complicated modification inspections anymore?

Our answer is clear: no. The camping of the future is flexible, smart and free from bureaucracy.

Tax reform threatens the old model

Until now, registering as a motorhome has offered a small but attractive discount on annual vehicle tax. However, the upcoming tax reform is about to remove this advantage. It is very possible that soon owning an official motorhome will become more expensive than owning a regular van on an annual basis.

What does this mean in practice? Anyone who has made permanent changes to their car's structures and gone through an expensive modification process may soon pay more for their hobby - and at the same time have lost the versatility of their car.

Freedom is flexibility, not fixed structures

Our design philosophy has always been based on freedom. That is why our products are fundamentally different from traditional camper van solutions: our furniture does not require fixed, permanent installation on the car's structures.

How is this possible? Our furniture is securely and safely attached to the car's original load-securing points while driving. They stay firmly in place, but installing or removing them does not require a single permanent change to your car. No holes, no screws in the body panels, no irreversible solutions. However, to improve living comfort and safety, it is worth insulating your van and placing a hard-wearing mat on the floor. However, these do not prevent you from using your car in a variety of ways.

Since no permanent changes are made, your car remains a van in the eyes of the law. You do not need to have it inspected for modifications.

Future-proof solution – three clear advantages

With this approach, you achieve three significant advantages that make your camping trip more carefree and smarter:

  • You avoid future higher taxes: When your car remains a van, its taxation is predictable. You do not have to worry about the tax increases for motorhomes, which may come into effect soon.
  • You save on bureaucracy: Forget about complicated paperwork and queuing at the inspection station. Install the furniture in the car when you need it, and remove it when you don't. It's that simple.
  • You retain the true value of your car: versatility: This is the biggest advantage. Your car can be a tool for transporting goods on Monday and a fully equipped home on wheels on Friday. You are not tied to one purpose, but you give your car a new life without compromise.

The world is changing, and so are the laws. Thinking based on fixed structures and old tax benefits has come to an end. The smart adventurer now chooses freedom, flexibility and a future-proof solution.
