Camper van taxation changes – Why fixed installation is no longer worthwhile?

The planned car tax reform is significantly changing the playing field, and the taxation of camper vans is likely to increase substantially. This raises an important question: is there any sense left in bolted-in, fixed furniture solutions and complicated conversion inspections?
Our answer is clear: no. The future of camping is flexible, smart, and free from bureaucracy.
Tax reform threatens the old model
Until now, registering a vehicle as a camper van has offered a small but attractive discount on the annual vehicle tax. However, the upcoming tax reform is set to remove this benefit. It is very possible that soon, owning an official camper van will become more expensive annually than a regular van.
What does this mean in practice? Someone who has made permanent structural changes to their car and undergone an expensive conversion process might soon pay more for their hobby – and at the same time, have lost the versatility of their car.
Freedom is flexibility, not fixed structures
Our design philosophy has always been based on freedom. That's why our products fundamentally differ from traditional camper van solutions: our furniture does not require fixed, permanent installation into the car's structure.
How is this possible? Our furniture is securely and safely fastened during driving to the car's original load securing points. They stay firmly in place, but installing or removing them does not require a single permanent alteration to your car. No holes, no screws into the body panels, no irreversible solutions. However, to improve living comfort, your van should be insulated and a durable mat placed on the floor. These measures, however, do not prevent your car's versatile use.
Since no permanent changes are made, your car remains a van in the eyes of the law. You do not need to convert it by inspection.
Future-proof solution – three clear advantages
- You avoid future higher taxes: When your car remains a van, its taxation is predictable. You don't have to worry about camper van tax increases, which may come into force soon.
- You save on bureaucracy: Forget complicated paperwork and queuing at the inspection station. Install the furniture in your car when you need it, and remove it when you don't. It's that simple.
- You retain the true value of your car: versatility: This is the biggest advantage. Your car can be a tool for cargo transport on Monday and a fully equipped home on wheels on Friday. You are not committed to a single use, but give your car a new life without compromise.
The world changes, and so do laws. The way of thinking based on fixed structures and old tax benefits has come to an end. The smart adventurer now chooses freedom, flexibility, and a future-proof solution.
