Update your car for 2026

Helsingin Messukeskus will be filled with recreational vehicles this weekend when Caravan 2026 kicks off. The halls are packed with shiny new products and models, each more equipped than the last. Amidst the exhibition buzz, however, an important question arises for us: is the biggest and newest always the best?

While gigantic luxury cars are impressive, we strongly believe that the freedom of the future lies in agility and versatility. Instead of heavy equipment, a solution that lives with everyday life is needed. A car where hobbies, work, and home travel seamlessly along.

Treasure hunt in the Pre-Loved area

When the brightest spotlights in the exhibition hall point to brand new, shiny, and expensive recreational vehicle giants, we turn our gaze elsewhere. For us, the most interesting section of the fair this year is in the Pre-Loved area, where used recreational vehicles are presented.

Why? Because we are not looking for a ready-made package. We are looking for potential.

For many visitors, a used van is just a means of transport that already has kilometers behind it. For us, it is a perfect blank canvas waiting for a new life.

Smarter freedom

Financially and tax-wise, acquiring a used van is often the smartest move. As we have written before, the taxation of recreational vehicles is changing, and fixed installations tie your vehicle to only one purpose.

When you find a well-maintained, low-mileage van at the fair (or inspired by it), you are doing an eco-deed and saving your wallet. When you equip it with Life4Van's removable modules, you get the best of both worlds:

  • Your car remains registered as a van.

  • You get the comforts of a full-fledged recreational vehicle.

  • You retain the car's resale value, as you do not make permanent holes or modifications to it.

Four tips to get you started:

In 2026, travel is no longer just moving from point A to point B; it is a lifestyle that includes work and hobbies alongside travel. To make the most of your next trip, we have compiled a list to prepare your car and yourself for the next adventure.

  1. To keep your hobbies with you, look for solutions that do not take up your living space. Among the fair selection, you might find cars with smart garage features or accessories that help you carry your e-bike always charged. Make room for hobbies on your route, such as cycling routes.

  2. Since remote work is part of van life, it's time to update your workstation. To always have access to mains power, power banks need to be updated from time to time. Or you can consider adding a solar panel to your car's roof, so you can enjoy working by a lake or in a flower meadow.

  3. Food is the heart of a trip. Have you always dreamed of cooking outdoors at sunset or experiencing local delicacies? Make food tourism part of your travel plan and experience new food cultures as part of the adventure. It's worth checking out the hit restaurants of your next trip, or if homemade food appeals more, try cooking something new with local ingredients.

  4. To also be able to rest and calm down amidst everyday life, reserve days for your trip without a plan or destination. Let your interest awaken to hidden places where the best moments can arise. The luxury of everyday life is letting the feeling and the road lead you.
